First of all, the home pictured here to the left is the 100+ year-old Victorian home we are living in during vicarage. A doctor and his family (wife and 3 boys) are practicing medicine in New Zealand. They are members of Immanuel and offered their home for the vicar to live in. We are the recipients of this gracious gift. So, if you are looking for a place to get away for a weekend, we have plenty of room!Secondly, even though there are three LCMS congregations in this town of 25,000, there were no youth ministry positions available for Jamie. So, the hunt began, and ended with a job at Applebee’s as a waitress. While an adjustment from full-time church work, she enjoys her co-workers and enjoys serving. She recently was promoted to a trainer!
If you thought the job at Applebee’s was enough, think again. Four mornings a week, and four afternoons a week, Jamie serves as an assistant swimming coach at the local High School. She has really enjoyed this opportunity as it allows her to interact with the youth that she so dearly loves and enjoys. Their first meet is coming up. Go Owls!
A Euchre club, weekends with family and friends, and the occasional trip to the outlet mall fill the rest of our time. Plenty of stuff to do in small town Indiana!
